Claims that this stand is light weight fall short, but that's OK with me especially if we're talking about holding up a 10 or 11 inch tablet. Claims of compactness are entirely justified, almost too justified. I'm not sure that the 9 inch height is adaquit for OCR'ing an 8.5/11 inch page, but I will test this shortly and report back. This particular stage doesn't come with a light. With the flashes on modern tablets getting better, this may not be such a concern. I did use this with my phone as a money reader with blinddroid wallet to easily swipe a lot of bills very quickly. For that, it worked a real treat and I feel very confident using the system to work a cash at fundraisers.
