instructions and review from warren
Here's some info Warren provided related to this app and talkback:
So, as I said last night, I was going to play with the above Camera a bit, and so I did.
Let me start by saying that this camera is intended for capturing faces only. In other words, you cannot use the voice guidance to take a shot of the foliage in your yard.
Upon first launch, the camera comes up asking you as to whether or not you want to view the userguide. And there is a Yes, or a No, button. I recommend choosing the “yes” to hear about the workings of the app. The user guide is not long at all, but going through it, gives you an understanding of how it works. It is worth noting here, that in this window, one can see the lense view opened near the top of the screen, and you may even hear the App voice say something.
Upon finishing the user guide, simply hit the “back” key to exit out of it.
Exiting out of the User Guide, places you straight into the summary of both the Detection and Camera Settings. In other words, you are placed in a window that tells you all about the detection and camera Settings that have been chosen for you.
At the bottom of the phone, are three unlabeled buttons: Starting from the lef, is the “Camera Settings,”
Next, going right is the “Detection Settings” and
The last one on the right is the “okay” button which is labeled.
Tapping on either the “detection” or “Camera” settings, would make it possible for you to customize the settings to your liking.
Tapping “Okay,” places you in the camera view where live images appear. In other words, you are in the live view of the camera and you are ready to take a picture at this point.
Let me mention here in passing also, that while in the live view, you have, near the top, four buttons that are labeled, and these are, from the top right just below the notification bar are:
More settings,
Camera Settings,
Detection Settings and
Presets.
The camera will speak only when there is a face in the view, if there is no face or faces in the view, you won’t get any feedback. So, in other words, you can’t take picture of inanimate objects.
When a face is in view and it tells you to move the camera either to the left, right, or to move it down or up, or whatever, whenever it is ready, it will tll you to hold; which at this point, you need to hold it and be steady.
The next thing it will tell you to do is to say, “cheese” and at that pint, the shutter fires and the pictures, often turn out real good.
After taking a shot, near the top are three buttons. Going from the right just below the Notification Bar are:
Delete,
Share and
Gallery.
Tapping on either one of those buttons will do what the button says.
Let me mention here in passing, that tapping the “gallery” button, takes you to the Gallery of the Smart Selfie, and not the gallery of your native Camera.
The interesting part of this Smart Selfie gallery is the fact that near the bottom, it will tell you about the image with respect to its size, date of capture, time, file name, etc.
Just to the right of the information window where you heard about the size, file name, etc, are three little buttons that are labeled, and these are:
Minimize,
Maximize and
Close.
Note: The Minimize and the Maximize buttons, do not enlarge or decrease the size of the pictue, rather they increase or decrese the information window, and that is true about the “close” button, which only closes the information window but you are still in the gallery view. Tap the back key to return to the live view.
If you choose not to delete a picture after you take a shot, the image is automatically saved in the Smart Selfie gallery.
To view images, simply tap on the “more settings” that appear near the top right just below the Notification bar in the live view of the camera.
