google play and purchased apps
Android has a feature that will automatically cync all of your apps down once you plug in your username and password, but for best results, it had to be turned on back when you had your old device. There are advantages and disadvantages to having this turned on. Personally, I prefer to go into "my apps" from the navigation drawer and manually install things. This lets me move things around where I want them, a process which is very tedious in stock launcher and compounded exponentially according to the number of apps and pages to deal with at the start.
The other caveat is that depending on how long you had your old baby and where it started from in the android version sequence, you may run into a situation where some of your old apps are no longer supported by modern android. You'll still be able to see them but they will complain if you try to install them.
As long as you remember your google login as soon as you log in again with these credentials you will have access to all your apps and content. You can also use these credentials on more than 1 device at a time and your purchases will be available.
