I've had my Galaxy S6 for about a year now, and I'm sure the numpad used to speak. When I open the phone app, and press open numpad, I get no numbers spoken until I've removed my finger. This happens with talkback and Vo9ice Assistant. Solving this would earn my eternal gratitude. I've factory reset the phone, but to no avail.

It worked. It cost money, but on the grounds that I could get my money back if it didn't work, I bought it. It works fine, and I like the contacts screens. Points, points points.

That never occurred to me. The problem is that it used to work with the standard dialer. I'll give it a shot!
