I have a rockboxed sansa fuse. This player has been fantastic and continues to be a workhorse. I use it for audio book and music listening. My player is three years old now, and while I intend to use it until it drops dead in it's tracks, it might be time to think about next steps.
So I'm looking for an audio player on android which will:
be excellent on battery,
Allow bookmarks for multiple sets of files,
Support mp3 and flac audio,
have the widest possible array of EQ'ing options for bass, trebble, stereo width, and more,
Offer extensions such as equalizer presets and file format support plugins,
Offer intergration with dropbox and/or tonido,
Be talkback accessible,
Am I dreaming, or is there an android media player that meets my needs?

I've looked and looked, and to this day, I have found nothing that even comes close to Rockbox. There are some great options for playing individual files, and even some decent options for playing audiobooks, but Rockbox is the gold standard for playing audio, and nothing else can even hold a candle to it on any device. Sadly, although Rockbox has been ported to Android, the developers still consider it to be unusable, and it also doesn't yet work with Talkback. Your best bet at this point would be to purchase a Clip Zip, or if you can still find one, a Clip+ and put Rockbox on that if your Fuse fails, as I can't think of anything on any phone or tablet that can give you all the features you want. Nothing else so far meets my persinal standards, and my featureset is rather similar to yours.
